IN AND AROUND BANGKOK: All of the following half-day and one day tours below were found in brochures that we picked up at the airport. Most hotels in Bangkok will also offer similar tours. However, it is important to note, that you don't have to be that adventurous to do most of these on your own. FLOATING MARKET (half day) A picturesque trip to Damner Saduak canal about two hours away from Bangkok. Dozens of vendor boats crowd the canals giving a colourful picture.


TEMPLES IN THE CITY (half day) Your trip to Bangkok is not complete unless you have seen some of the major temples:

Wai Traimit (The Golden Buddha)
Wat Pho (Reclining buddha)
Wat Benchamabopit (The Marble Temple)

ROSE GARDEN (half day) Nearly 60 acres of landscaped tropical gardens and orchards developed into a typical Thai village. The highlight is the cultural showing everything from traditional dancing to a wedding ceremony.

CROCODILE FARM (half day) The biggest crocodile farm in Thailand is located just 30 kms south of Bangkok. See over 30,000 crocodiles from tiny babies to the largest captive crocodile in the world.

GRAND PALACE (half day) Considered by most people to be the highlight of Bangkok. A complex housing many colourful temples and buildings.

BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI (full day) Come and visit the location for the real-life "Bridge on the River Kwai" and also the graves of the Allied war prisoners who died during the Japanese occupation of Thailand.

PATTAYA (full day) Now a world-renowned seaside resort on the easter shore of the Gulf of Thailand. Pattaya has a charm of its own with mile upon mile of beaches and seaside activities.

AYUTTHAYA/Bang Pa In (full day) Ayutthaya is a former capital of Thailand (1350-1767) and offers magnificient ruins showing a former splendor. Ayutthaya is situated 71 kms north of Bangkok.

SAFARI WORLD (full day) Thailand's greatest and most popular open zoo and show park. Covering over 200 acres, Safari World also includes theme
