It
is believed that Wat Sala Loi was founded in 1827 by Khunying
Mo, Nakhon Ratchasima Province's Heroine, who successfully defended
her city from an invading army more than 100 years ago. The
relics of Khunying
Mo are enshired in this temple.
An ordination
hall, built in 1967 is decorated with the local Dankwien ceramics.
The door panels, decorated with metal, depict the lives of the
Buddha. The Siam architects society named the temple "The
Most Unique Religious Building in the Modern Style" (1973).
