"One of the most loved musicals of all time comes to animation in this classic story of romance, adventure, music and fun. In 1863, an English schoolteacher, Anna, is hired to teach the Royal chil
dren of the King of Siam. The King, who claims to be a man of science, wants to show that Siam is ready to take its place among the modern nations of the civilized world. But the evil Prime Minister, the Kralahome, wants to prove to Queen Victoria of England that the King is a barbarian and should be dethroned. This would leave the throne open for the Kralahone's own evil intentions. Anna finds the King stubborn, hanging on to outdated beliefs, like choosing a bride for his son, the Prince. Anna also discovers that the Prince has fallen in love with a servant girl, named Tuptim, given to the King as a present. This is forbidden love. In addition, Anna was promised a house of her own outside the palace if she came to Siam, and is now forced to live inside the castle. But the Royal children prove irresistable and Anna falls in love with them as they do her. As Anna and the King slowly form a friendship, the Prince and Tuptim decide to run away together. The Kralahome, using mystical powers of illusion tries to trap the Prince and Tuptim and blame the King and his barbaric ways. Anna must find a way to save the Prince and Tuptim and help the King prove to the world that he is a good King and not a barbarian. It's going to take a lot of understanding and friends to help set things right."
