Lars Arentz-Hansen is relatively new within the Norwegian TV- and film industry but has for a number of years appeared in a row of challenging theatrica
l parts in Norway as well as South Africa. His background must be described as being rather untraditional having graduated in Law in Norway, spent 6 months studying French at The University of Montpellier, France as well as holding a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama from the UCT Drama School, Cape Town, South Africa. Hence Lars speaks no less than 4 languages, namely: Norwegian, English, French and German. Lars Arentz Hansen is a "typical " Scandinavian with dark blond hair and blue eyes and his first appearances in the TV- and film industry were parts as featured extras in various Norwegian Productions and some commercials. Previous to this his acting experiences had primarily been relating to theatrical performances. Lately he has been involved in 2 TV-productions by the Norwegian TV, NRK-Drama: The TV-soap "Offshore" and "Sofies Verden" (Sophies World). The latter is a major TV- & film production in co-operation with the Swedish TV, SVT, which was filmed last year and will be launched as a regular theatre movie as well as a TV-series. The premier of the movie is scheduled for August 1999 while the TV-series isnt expected to be ready untill sometime next year. Further, Lars Arentz-Hansen is the co-founder of The Arena Theatre Company in Cape Town, South Africa (1996) - and it will no doubt be very interesting to follow Lars' further career whether the "stage" or the "screen" will be his favorite choice!
Lars talks to thaistudents.com in an exclusive interview.
Nationality: Norwegian
Date of Birth: 24th February 1966 (Norway)
Hobbies: Tennis, Soccer, Swimming, Boxing, Horse riding and Skiing
Character: Bugs - "I couldn't make my mind up about Bugs. It was weird, because he was exactly the kind of guy that I felt I ought to like, almost out of obligation. He was broader and more muscular than me; as head of the carpentry detail, he had obvious skills; I also suspected he was pretty intelligent. This was harder to gauge because he didn't speak much, but when he did speak it seemed to be things worth saying. But despite all these fine characteristics, there was something about him that left me a little cold."
